Despite recent attention, most of François de Fossa's works, including these Trios Concertants Op. 18, remain relatively unknown, and this recording is the first of the Trios.

Simon Wynberg, the guitarist on this album, is known for his research into guitar repertoire and his editions and publications, and he founded and directs the annual Blair Atholl Festival in Scotland.

François de Fossa was dissuaded from pursuing music as a full-time occupation due to the minimal financial return he received for his admired three quartets, despite praise and encouragement.
