Interpretation
The Haydn2032 project also includes music by other composers contemporary with Haydn, such as Gluck, W. F. Bach, Mozart, Cimarosa, and Kraus, to establish links between works.
Performer Biography
Giovanni Antonini, the conductor, is a co-founder of the Baroque ensemble Il Giardino Armonico and has performed as a conductor and soloist worldwide.
Recording & Production
For each recording in the Haydn2032 series, a Magnum photographer is selected and their photos are featured on the covers, in booklets, and in concert communications.
Composition History
The Haydn2032 project aims to record all 107 of Joseph Haydn's symphonies by the 300th anniversary of his birth in 2032.
Interpretation
The Basel Chamber Orchestra, performing on period instruments, received the ECHO Klassik award for 'Ensemble of the Year' in 2008 for their historically informed interpretations of Beethoven symphonies.
