Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart once helped Michael Haydn by quickly composing two duets for violin and viola when Haydn was ill and unable to fulfill a commission, collegially not even signing his own name.
Historical Context
In 1821, a memorial monument was consecrated for Michael Haydn in Salzburg, twenty years before one was erected for Mozart in the 'Mozart town'.
