P. Gunther Kronecker (1803-1847), choirmaster of the Benedictine monastery of Kremsmünster, completed Johann Michael Haydn's fragmentary Requiem in 1839.
Compositional Technique
In completing the Requiem, P. Gunther Kronecker drew on Johann Michael Haydn's earlier Schrattenbach Requiem, Mozart's Requiem, and a Requiem by Georg Pasterwiz, a Benedictine pater from Kremsmünster.
