Performer Biography
Sebastian Berner, the trumpet soloist, won the 'Jugend Musiziert' competition at age 16 and the Maurice André Competition in Paris in 2022, both with Henri Tomasi's Concerto.

The recording sessions for this album took place in December 2023 and August 2024 at the hr-Sendesaal.

This album features several world premiere recordings, including Joseph Jongen's Concertino for trumpet and orchestra, and Robert Orledge's arrangement of Charles Koechlin's Les chants de Kervéléan.
Interpretation
Sebastian Berner, the trumpet soloist, recorded Joseph Jongen's Concertino on a German B flat trumpet, while all other pieces on the album were recorded on an American C trumpet.
