Performer Joachim Bänsch used multi-track recording to perform up to six-part arrangements and original compositions for horn on this album.
Joachim Bänsch, the horn player on this album, became Solo Horn of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra at just 21 years old.
The horn transitioned from a signaling device for watchmen, coachmen, and hunters to an art music instrument around the end of the 17th century.
The horn holds a unique position among wind instruments due to its wide dynamic range, allowing its use in softer passages.
Joachim Bänsch is a founding member of the Linos Ensemble, with whom he toured and recorded worldwide for many years.
Joachim Bänsch founded the Stuttgart Horn Quartet in 1988, which is known for its award-winning CD recording.
