Franz Liszt, the composer featured on this album, was born in Raiding, Hungary in 1811, the son of Adam Liszt, who served the Esterházy Princes.

The first releases from the Idil Biret Archive (IBA) will be Liszt's transcriptions of Beethoven's Symphonies and newly recorded Beethoven's 32 Sonatas and all Piano Concertos.
