Kiya Tabassian, a setar virtuoso and acclaimed composer, is the artistic director of Constantinople, an ensemble he founded in Montreal in 1998.

The album's title, "Il Ponte di Leonardo" (Leonardo's Bridge), refers to Leonardo da Vinci's 1502 proposal to Sultan Bayezid II to build a bridge connecting Europe and Asia.

Leonardo da Vinci, the famous Italian polymath, offered his services to Sultan Bayezid II in 1502 to build two bridges in Constantinople, including one across the Bosphorus to connect Europe and Asia.

Performer Biography
Marco Beasley, born in 1957, is a vocalist who studied the stylistic pillars of the late Renaissance, recitar cantando and polyphony, and co-founded the early music ensemble Accordone in 1984.
