Most of Bach's Toccatas and Fugues on this album date from his Weimar years (1708-1717), when he had the most opportunities to play the organ.
Performer Biography
In 2019, Elena Privalova launched a large-scale project to perform all of J.S. Bach's organ works in monthly concerts in Riga, Latvia.

Bach relished intellectual challenges, as shown when he produced his extraordinary Musical Offering in two weeks after Frederick the Great challenged him to extemporise a six-part fugue.

Elena Privalova, the organist on this album, is also a musicologist, artistic director, and President of the Kuskovo Organ Evenings Festival.
