Composer Biography

Jindřich Feld, born in Prague in 1925, is considered one of the foremost Czech composers of his generation, alongside figures like Pierre Boulez.

In the late 1960s, Feld experimented with dodecaphonic techniques, developing a personal grammar that reconciled the rigor of the Viennese school with his natural melodic and rhythmic exuberance.

Feld studied violin and viola with his father, a renowned teacher at the Prague Conservatory, and later earned a PhD in musicology, aesthetics, and philosophy from Charles IV University.
