Composer Biography
The Eastman School of Music initiated an archive of Louis Karchin's manuscripts and career in 2018, and honored him with a Centennial Award for lifetime achievement in music in 2022.
Performer Biography
The Horszowski Trio, featured on this album, is named after legendary pianist Mieczyslaw Horszowski, with whom their pianist studied as his last pupil.
Recording & Production
The 'Two Sacred Songs' on this album were first presented online during the pandemic, with soprano Marisa Karchin and her accompanist recording their parts separately and syncing them remotely.
