On December 11th, 1910, three distinguished Viennese musicians—Bruno Walter (piano), Arnold Rosé (violinist and Gustav Mahler's brother-in-law), and Friedrich Buxbaum (cellist)—performed Korngold's Piano Trio, Op. 1.

Korngold's Piano Trio, Op. 1, was begun in December 1909 and completed in April 1910, a month before his 13th birthday.

Korngold's Piano Trio, Op. 1, includes a Viennese waltz in its final movement, anticipating the decadent decline of the genre later captured by Ravel in 'La Valse'.
