Ernesto Lecuona, a Cuban composer, was a child prodigy who gave his first piano recital at age 5 and composed his first piece by age 11.

Many of Lecuona's piano works, including those in this series, were previously unavailable to the public, and some were even lost or never written down.

This album is part of a six-CD series by Thomas Tirino, recording the complete piano works of Ernesto Lecuona in honor of the centenary of Lecuona's birth.
