Frédéric Ledroit's "Messe pour un Siècle Nouveau" (Mass for a New Century), Op. 43, was premiered in April 2000 at the International Organ Festival in Charente, France.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Composer Frédéric Ledroit divided his Mass into two types of prayer: intimate prayer (Kyrie, Agnus Dei) for direct exchange with the Absolute, and collective prayer (Gloria, Credo, Sanctus) for glorifying the Lord.
Instruments
The Grand Organ of Angoulême Cathedral, featured on this recording, was restored in 1965 by Beuchet-Debierre with advice from Maurice Duruflé, a famous French organist and composer.
