The Orchestra della Svizzera italiana (OSI), one of Switzerland's thirteen professional orchestras, was founded in 1935 in Lugano as the Orchestra di Radio Monte Ceneri.

The recordings on this album are dedicated to Jurg 'Abdul' Grand, who founded the Martha Argerich Project at the 2002 Lugano Festival.
