Tarquinio Merula served as an organist at the court of the King of Poland in Warsaw for some time.

The dulcian, an early version of the bassoon from the 16th century, was named for its sweeter and more nimble sound compared to the bombard.
Interpretation
Collegium Pro Musica, founded by Stefano Bagliano, specializes in late-Renaissance and Baroque music, performed in period style using faithful copies of original instruments.
