Did you know?
1/7Composition History
Mozart composed his 6th, 7th, and 8th piano concertos (KV 238, 242, 246) in quick succession in early 1776, at the age of twenty.
Instruments
The Tangentenflügel, a historical keyboard instrument, represents the diversity of keyboard instruments in Mozart's time and has a sound between a harpsichord and a fortepiano.
Composer Biography
At twenty, Mozart was careful not to be too original in his compositions to avoid alienating the aristocracy in Salzburg, a city he wished to leave.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Mozart's earlier style, as heard in KV238 and KV246, shows a strong connection to the baroque and galant styles, which significantly influenced him.

Olga Pashchenko performs on copies of two very different historical keyboard instruments: a Walter fortepiano for KV456 and a Tangentenflügel by Späth and Schmahl for KV238 and KV246.
Recording & Production
This album is a continuation of Olga Pashchenko and Il Gardellino's Mozart concerto series, with future plans to record Beethoven concertos with Olga leading the orchestras from her instrument.
