Composer Biography
Nicolaus Richter de Vroe, the composer, began his musical education in Dresden, studying violin and composition, and later pursued violin studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.
Composition History
Both the Violin Concerto and Avenir were commissioned by musica viva of Bayerischer Rundfunk, a series created by composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann in 1945 to promote new music.
