Composer Biography
Moses Pergament, born in Helsinki in 1893, played a leading role in Swedish musical life as a critic and as the country's first modernist composer.

The Chaconne for solo violin is constructed on the Kol Nidre motif, a Jewish prayer that Pergament also arranged for a cappella choir.
