Alexander Nikolayevich Liadov once received an order from Emperor Nicholas I to orchestrate a waltz tune for performance that same evening, and his brother Konstantin Nikolayevich Liadov helped him complete the task in two and a half hours.

Ivan Aleksandrovich Pomazansky, Anatoly Liadov's brother-in-law, was a harpist and choir master at the Mariinsky Theatre for 50 years and played a significant role in Russian opera productions, including preparing choirs for Rimsky-Korsakov's and Mussorgsky's operas.
