Lana Trotovšek, the violinist on this album, made her solo debut with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev in 2012 and has since performed with prominent orchestras worldwide.

Composition History

Prokofiev's Violin Sonata in F minor, Op. 80, took eight years to complete, from its start against the backdrop of Soviet artistic unease in 1936 to its premiere in 1946.
