Composer Biography

Hofer was born near Salzburg in Reichenhall and moved to Salzburg in 1642, where he likely received his first musical education.

Hofer dedicated his 1654 collection, Salmi con una voce e doi Violini, e Motetti con, e senza Violini, to the archbishop, his employer, and included a preface for musicians.
