Jordan Gregoris, the cellist, was trained in the French Cello School tradition and has performed internationally in various chamber music ensembles.

In Rachmaninov's Cello Sonata, the cello part is treated as a very lyrical vocal line, while the piano plays the main role with a quasi-symphonic dimension.

All the chamber works on this album are from Rachmaninov's early period, before 1902.
