Patrick Gallois, the flautist and conductor, studied flute with Jean-Pierre Rampal at the Paris Conservatoire from the age of seventeen.
Composer Biography
Carl Reinecke was well-received by Felix Mendelssohn and Robert and Clara Schumann, with Robert Schumann finding Reinecke musically after his own heart.
Interpretation
The solo flute part for the Flute Concerto on this recording is an adaptation by Patrick Gallois, based on both orchestral and solo scores due to existing discrepancies.
