As a musicologist, Respighi published editions of music by Claudio Monteverdi and Antonio Vivaldi, combining pre-Classical styles with 19th-century Romantic harmonies.
Performer Biography
Salvatore Di Vittorio, the conductor, was entrusted by Respighi's great nieces with restoring several of the composer's early orchestral works.

This album features the world premiere recording of the completed orchestration of Respighi's Tre Liriche, which was finished by Salvatore Di Vittorio.
Composer Biography
Respighi studied composition for five months with Rimsky-Korsakov in Russia, after serving as principal violist for the Russian Imperial Theatre Orchestra of St Petersburg.
