Despite his prolific output, much of Julius Röntgen's work remained unknown until around the turn of the millennium, and even in 2019, his oeuvre is considered a trove of unknown treasures.
Instruments
The instrument heard on this recording was built by Giuseppe Pedrazinni around 1910, and the bow is from the Peccatte school, dating to around 1860.
