Lachezar Kostov, the cellist, and Viktor Valkov, the pianist, are long-time friends and chamber music collaborators who made their Carnegie Hall debut together in 2009.

Roslavets, independently of Schoenberg, developed his own dodecaphonic (twelve-tone) system of composition, using 'synthetic chords' of six to nine notes.
