Christoph Lehmann, the organist on this recording, has been the church musician in Tangermünde and organist of the Scherer-Orgel since 1992.

Christoph Lehmann, the organist, is an Organ Adviser for the Evangelischen Kirche in Mitteldeutschland and supervised the restoration of the Scherer-Orgel in Tangermünde.

The Scherer-Orgel underwent a meticulous reconstruction over ten years, starting in the 1980s, to restore it to its 1624 condition, and was rededicated in 1994.

The organ used for this recording, the Scherer-Orgel in St. Stephan Tangermünde, was originally completed in 1624 by the famous Hamburg organ builder Hans Scherer d. J.

Despite numerous alterations over centuries, almost 50% of the original pipes, including the facade pipes, and some parts of the original technical system of the Scherer-Orgel remained intact.
