The recording was made in September 2020 at Radiostudio Zürich, Switzerland, as a coproduction with SRF 2 Kultur.
Instruments
The piano used for this recording is a Grand Piano by Carl Strobel, made in Vienna in 1824/1825.
Composition History
Unlike Schubert's other large song cycles, "Schwanengesang" features texts by three different poets: Ludwig Rellstab, Heinrich Heine, and Schubert's friend Johann Gabriel Seidl.
