This album features the first recording of Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Piano Quintet in C, Op.114a, an arrangement of his 'Military' Septet No.2.

The 'Trout' Quintet has unusual instrumentation for chamber music, scored for piano, violin, viola, cello, and double bass, at the request of Sylvester Paumgartner.
