Florian Uhlig, the pianist, gave his first piano recital at the age of twelve and studied at the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music in London.

The recording uses the latest critical editions and/or first editions of Schumann's piano works, with several CDs in the series featuring first recordings.

Schumann often compiled smaller, less technically demanding piano pieces, which had been set aside from larger works, into collections like Bunte Blätter op. 99 and Albumblätter op. 124 to satisfy publishers' demands for marketable music.
