Composer Biography
Scriabin damaged his right hand from overuse while practicing for his graduation at the Moscow Conservatory, leading him to develop his left hand for future compositions.
Compositional Technique
Scriabin's Sonata No. 10, sometimes called 'Insect Sonata', features abundant trills and tremolos that the composer likened to the flutterings of insects and 'caresses in sex'.
