The Abegg Trio has undertaken concert tours across Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Africa, and performed at numerous festivals including the Rheingau and Schleswig-Holstein Music Festivals.

This album was recorded in June 1994 at Festeburgkirche Frankfurt, with Andreas Spreer and Markus Heiland handling the recording and Andreas Spreer also doing the editing.
Critical Reception
The Abegg Trio's recordings have received significant critical acclaim, including their Mozart piano trios being called a 'reference recording' by Stereoplay, and their Brahms recording being named 'CD of the month' by Audio.

The handwritten 'Abegg trio' logo on the album cover was designed by Horst Janssen, who also created the cover painting 'Leo Tolstoi 17.3.81'.

Performer Biography
The Abegg Trio, founded in 1976 at the Hanover College of Music and Theatre, has received awards in Colmar (1977), Geneva (1977), Bonn (1979), Bordeaux (1981), Hanover (1986), and Zwickau (1992).
Instruments
The Abegg Trio performs on antique Italian instruments, with Ulrich Beetz playing a Joseph Guarnerius del Gesù violin from Cremona (1741) and Birgit Erichson playing a Joseph Guarnerius Filius Andreae violoncello from Cremona (1725).
