Quentin Poole, the conductor for most of the album, was a founder member of Endymion and later became Director of Music at The Purcell School.

This album, "Sound Census," celebrates Endymion's 30th anniversary by commissioning 20 British composers to write new pieces for the group.

This album was recorded live in Hall One, Kings Place, London, over three days in June 2009.
