Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 3 was originally conceived as the first movement of a symphony that he never completed.
Composition History
Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 7 is a reconstruction by Russian composer Semyon Bogatyryov from the 1950s, based on Tchaikovsky's discarded sketches for an E-flat major symphony.
Recording & Production
This CD concludes Dmitrij Kitajenko's Tchaikovsky cycle with the Gürzenich Orchestra, allowing listeners to hear what remained of Tchaikovsky's late, ambitious project.

Tchaikovsky planned an E-flat major symphony, titled 'Life', to explore youth, love, and death, asking the eternal questions: Why? What for?
