The immortal song "Embraceable You" originated from the unproduced Ziegfield musical East is West, for which George Gershwin had written the Impromptu (1929).

George Gershwin's original repertoire for violin and piano is limited to one small, little-known composition called Short Story, composed with violinist Samuel Dushkin.
