Many of the choral works on this album date from periods when Richard Pantcheff held musical appointments at the Episcopal Church of Christ the King, Frankfurt, Germany (1993-1995) and the Anglican Church of St. George, Johannesburg, South Africa (2010-2019).

The London Choral Sinfonia, the ensemble on this recording, champions new music and has premiered works by numerous composers, including Richard Pantcheff.

Michael Waldron, the conductor, began his musical training as a chorister and held the Organ Scholarship at Trinity College, Cambridge, studying under Stephen Layton.

Richard Pantcheff, the composer, was mentored in composition by Benjamin Britten in the last years of Britten's life.

The recording of this CD took place in January 2020, and the performers were unaware of the impending arrival of Covid-19 at the time.
