The Suite for Viola and Small Orchestra, composed in 1934, was a challenging work for Vaughan Williams, who once wrote, "my viola suite is not finished - I do not know if it ever will be".
Performer Biography
Martin Outram, the violist on this recording, is a member of the internationally renowned Maggini Quartet and has received a Gramophone Award and three Grammy nominations.
