The Knabenchor Hannover (Hannover Boys' Choir) was founded in 1950 by Professor Heinz Hennig and has won numerous awards, including the Diapason d'Or and Echo Klassik.

Harald Weiss dedicated his Requiem to the Knabenchor Hannover (Hannover Boys' Choir) due to a long-standing connection and the unique quality of boys' voices.
Compositional Technique
Weiss structured the boy choir parts in his Requiem in layers, like a "Baumkuchen" (a traditional German cake), to avoid overtaxing the young voices.
