Composer Biography

Douglas Young, born in London in 1947, won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music and the Karl Rankl Prize for orchestral composition in 1970.

Composer's Artistic Vision

Douglas Young's early work, 'The Listeners' (1967), explored the implicit conflict between East and West, which was further developed in his later compositions.
