2018 Azrieli Music Prizes - Gala Concert

The Azrieli Foundation offers its 2018 Azrieli Music Prizes (AMP) Gala Concert, captured at Maison symphonique de Montréal, and featuring prize-winning works by AMP Laureates Avner Dorman and Kelly-Marie Murphy. The McGill Chamber Orchestra under the baton of guest conductor Yoav Talmi explores Jewish music from the groundbreaking works by the prize-winners, alongside new arrangements of Hebrew songs and Mendelssohn's brilliant Symphony No. 4.  With soloists including Sharon Azrieli, Erica Goodman, Rachel Mercer and Lara St. John, this concert is both innovative and artistically fulfilling.

The Azrieli Music Prizes were founded in 2014, honouring outstanding compositions through four prestigious awards: the Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music, and Commissions for Jewish, Canadian, and International Music. The biennial competition and Gala highlight the themes of Jewish music, cultural diversity, and Canadian identity.
