Polina Spirina, the pianist, holds a PhD in Philosophy from Saint Petersburg State University, with a thesis on 'Ontological Principles of Time Conceptualisation (From Eternity to the Moment)'.

Duo Rubikon is the first and only chamber music duo of its kind to perform rare or never-before-heard masterpieces from composers like Francesco Cilea, Camillo Schumann, and Alexander Borodin, as well as rarities from Georgia, Armenia, and Uzbekistan.
Composition History
Alexander Borodin's Violoncello Sonata in B minor, featured on this album, was written in 1860 in Heidelberg and is based on a fugue theme from Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata for Solo Violin BWV 1001.
Performer Biography
The cellist Nargiza Yusupova and pianist Polina Spirina, who form Duo Rubikon, first met in 2016 on a children's playground, not at a music academy.
