Composition History
The Fantasia and Fugue in C minor BWV 562 is an important piece written in the last years of Bach's life, dated between 1747 and 1748, but unfortunately lacks a conclusion.
Recording & Production
This recording was made in St. Nikolaus Church in Rosenheim, Germany, on July 14-15, 2023, featuring an organ built by Orgelmakerij Gebr. Reil in 2009.
Composer Biography
Johann Sebastian Bach composed many more than the 1128 works in his catalogue, but a quantity of his works have unfortunately not survived or are incomplete.
Composition History
The chorale prelude O Traurigkeit, o Herzeleid BWV Anh. 200 was part of Bach's ambitious but largely unfinished Orgelbüchlein, a collection intended to contain 164 chorale preludes, of which only 43 were composed.

This album presents all of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ works that survived as fragments, completed by organist Lorenzo Ghielmi to allow these forgotten pieces to be heard.
Performer Biography
Lorenzo Ghielmi, the organist on this recording, has devoted many years to studying and interpreting Renaissance and Baroque music as an organist, harpsichordist, and conductor.
