Trio Parnassus, founded in 1983 by cellist Michael Groß, has released 40 CDs on the MDG label and has been awarded the ECHO-Klassik twice and the OPUS-Klassik in 2021.
Compositional Technique
In Simrock's arrangement of Beethoven's Sextet Op. 81b, the original horn parts were transferred to the violin/viola and cello, with the viola offered as an alternative to the violin for its subdued sound.

Composer Biography
Nikolaus Simrock, the publisher who arranged Beethoven's Sextet Op. 81b into a piano trio, had a long-standing friendship with the Beethoven family and was a fellow orchestra member with a young Ludwig.
