Graham Anthony Devine dedicated this recording to Julian Bream, whom he considers the greatest guitarist of the 20th century, and to the composers Bream inspired.
Performer Biography
Julian Bream also played a significant role in reviving interest in the Elizabethan lute, performing solo lute music, accompanying singers, and establishing his own consort to bring early music to new audiences.

Julian Bream, a great guitarist, inspired many British composers to create a new repertoire of guitar music, which previously was largely associated with the sound world of Spain and Latin America.

This recording was made at St John Chrysostom Church, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, from July 24th to 27th, 2003.

The guitar used for this recording is a Hernandez Y Aguado from 1965, fitted with Savarez Corum strings.
