This album was recorded across two dates: July 4, 2018, for tracks 1-5, and November 18, 2021, for tracks 6-10, both at St. Michael's Church, Highgate, London.
Composition History
Christopher Fox's Trostlieder in Widerwertigkeit des Kriegs (Songs of Comfort in the Adversity of War) was inspired by Martin Opitz's 17th-century poems, which the composer encountered through Günter Grass's novel Das Treffen in Telgte.
