Eliasson's music combines extreme contrasts, moving from broad cantabile passages to powerful, hectic, or ecstatic climaxes, then fading organically into dolce and tranquillo.
Performer Biography
Christian Lindberg, the dedicatee of the Trombone Concerto, is credited with single-handedly establishing the trombone as a solo instrument and was voted the greatest brass player in history by Classic FM listeners in 2015.
Composer Biography
Anders Eliasson, born in 1947, began his musical journey by conducting an orchestra "in his head" at age three, despite never having heard one.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Eliasson believed that music is like H2O, where melody, harmony, and rhythm are a single entity and must flow, rejecting the idea of being "original" by design.
