Composer Biography
Francisco Coll's Opus 1, Aqua Cinerea, written at age 19, led to him becoming the only private student of composer Thomas Adès, who was impressed by its maturity.
Performer Biography
Gustavo Gimeno, the conductor, began his international conducting career in 2012 as an assistant to Mariss Jansons and was mentored by Bernard Haitink and Claudio Abbado.

Francisco Coll, the composer, sees little difference between composing and painting, often thinking of painting when he composes and building music in layers like oil on canvas.
Performer Biography
Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the violinist on this album, has a discography of 29 CDs and has performed vocal roles in works like Ligeti's Mysteries of the Macabre.
