Lars-Erik Larsson, a Swedish composer, was born in 1908 and showed early musical talent, learning piano by improvising and earning an organist certificate at 16.

Larsson's First Symphony was completely rewritten after he dreamed of conducting it and it sounded different from his imagination.

Recording & Production

An LP recording featuring Larsson's Pastoral Suite, performed by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, was awarded a Golden Disc in 1972 for selling 25,000 copies.

Compositional Technique

Larsson's Ten Two-Voice Piano Pieces, Op. 8 (1932), was one of the earliest consistently dodecaphonic compositions in Sweden, though it wasn't premiered until 1988.
