Fritz Werner, a church musician in Heilbronn after World War II, modeled his motet collection Die Botschaft on Heinrich Schütz's Geistliche Chormusik, even selecting similar texts.
Performer Biography
Morten Schuldt-Jensen, the conductor, has been a professor of choral and orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg since 2006 and was choral director at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig from 1999-2007.

Compositional Technique
Volker Bräutigam's 'Drei Seligpreisungen' use exposed fourths and harmonies reminiscent of jazz voicings, which often resolve into clear major and minor chords.
Recording & Production
This album was recorded across two separate sessions in 2019 and 2022, resulting in two almost entirely different choir lineups due to student turnover.
